Brandon Hays, PE, QSD/P, PMP

Brandon directs projects with the confidence gained from years of construction engineering and management experience. He has built a reputation for completing his projects on or ahead of schedule and under budget. He has also managed up to seven projects at once across California—having them all succeed because of thorough planning, coordination and execution.

His 12 years in the A/E/C industry include award-winning leadership and engineering roles in construction and project management. This combined experience proves valuable when he simultaneously reviews plans for constructability and determines how to quickly identify and prevent possible future conflicts.

Brandon’s specialties include bridges and roadways, along with key details such as Caltrans specifications, notices of potential claims, change orders and Critical Path Method Scheduling. He has also served as a committee member on the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Task Force created by Caltrans and Associated General Contractors.

Brandon is especially proud of two successes: In a previous post, he was project manager for a $90 million bridge replacement at Route 880 in Oakland. This complex project achieved everything the client wanted on an accelerated schedule, and then won the Partnering Success in Motion Award from Caltrans.

Prior to that, he was a turnaround artist managing a $35 million roadway-widening project. When he arrived, the team was three months behind schedule; a year later, the project wrapped up one month ahead of schedule. This tenacious effort earned two awards: the California Transportation Foundation Award for Conventional Highway Project of the Year and the Rural Highway Excellence in Transportation Award from Caltrans.

Outside of the office, Brandon enjoys traveling and embarking on adventures with his wife and young daughter. He can’t stay away from high-pressure situations: He’s an avid public speaker and played professional lacrosse for the San Francisco Dragons.
