Eric Smith, PE serves as the Director of Transportation Engineering, where he guides a talented team of professionals in delivering multifaceted projects. With more than 25 years of experience, Eric brings a strong track record of leading complex infrastructure projects with a focus on innovation, climate resilience, and community impact. He has delivered high-profile transportation and site development programs for public agencies and institutions throughout the Northeast.

Before joining Harris, Eric held senior leadership roles at a global design firm, where he led a 200-person transportation group and drove over $100M in annual revenue. He is well-versed in navigating complex regulatory and urban environments, with technical expertise spanning stormwater systems, roadway design, waterfront infrastructure, and sustainable site planning.

Notable projects in Eric’s portfolio include the Columbia University Manhattanville Campus Expansion, Coney Island Infrastructure Redevelopment, and the 107th Street Pier Resiliency Project in New York City.

Eric is a registered Professional Engineer with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University. He is passionate about mentoring emerging engineers and fostering collaborative project environments that serve the public good.
