CMAA San Diego Honors County of San Diego Cedar & Kettner Development Project Parking Structure with Project Achievement Award

San Diego, CA –

On April 28th, members of the Construction Management of Association of America (CMAA), San Diego Chapter gathered to celebrate the 2016 honorees of the Chapter's annual project achievement awards program. The County of San Diego and Harris & Associates received a project achievement award for the work the organizations performed on the Cedar & Kettner Development Project Parking Structure

"We are honored to be recognized among our peers with this award," says Harris Director and the project's construction manager, Joe Webber, CCM, DBIA, LEED AP. "The Cedar & Kettner project is a great example of the power of teamwork and leadership. The project was a success due to the collaborative and proactive efforts of the entire project team."

The $37 million, design-build Cedar & Kettner Development Project Parking Structure involved the new construction of a 10-level parking garage in San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood. The growing popularity of the area, along with the desire to provide more parking for workers at the County of San Diego, made the 645 new spaces the garage provided a necessity. The appearance is perhaps the most unique feature of the parking structure project. Ultimately, 140 complex exterior architectural fins were installed in sections to cement the garage’s visual appeal, which includes an installation created by a local artist and students.

Harris provided construction management services to the County of San Diego, working together with all project parties to avert potentially huge delays and reach a successful outcome.
