Harris & Associates is pleased to announce Zaheer Shaikh has joined the firm in the role of Director of Design and Engineering. For almost a couple of decades, Zaheer has led and participated in high-profile water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects for numerous cities and public agencies throughout the Bay Area.

With Harris, he will build on his history of results by helping municipalities design, evaluate, and implement solutions for rehabilitating treatment plants and improving aging water infrastructure.

Zaheer’s experience in water infrastructure includes all facets of project development and tasks such as planning, bidding, execution, controlling, and closing. He has also served as a resource manager and team leader responsible for talent acquisition, training, and professional development.

“Zaheer is incredibly passionate about capturing and sharing knowledge for the benefit of his clients and colleagues,” said Harris Vice President of Engineering Frank Lopez. “We’re fortunate to have someone so enthusiastic about water infrastructure and mentoring younger engineers.”

By combining technical innovation and responsible fiscal stewardship, Zaheer will support agencies in delivering services to benefit both the public and the environment. Since 2006, Zaheer has volunteered with the California Water Environment Association and currently serves on the organization’s board.
