With her 23-plus years of experience in the A/E/C field, Lara Jennings applies the principles she has learned to win over clients and colleagues as a construction management leader.
Today, Lara oversees Harris teams and projects that help America’s finest city live up to its moniker. Clients and owners throughout San Diego rely on her experience and expert advice to solve their most complex problems.
Lara excels at every facet of construction management for public and private projects, including budgeting, cost estimating, value engineering, scheduling, design/build procurement, specialty products, structural design, LEED certification and document preparation.
Her engineering background proves invaluable for working with architects and structural engineers in the field. She also specializes in accommodating tight schedules and lean budgets while adhering to strict project requirements. Among her most impressive accomplishments, Lara led the construction management team in pre-design, procurement, construction and closeout to finish the $220 million Las Colinas Detention and Retention Facility project under budget.
In the role of owner’s representative, Lara keeps stakeholders focused on the big picture with an understanding of the actual needs, the best possible options and risk management insights. Her acumen in business planning and development makes her a genuine competitive advantage for Harris.
Lara earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
